Senior Manager/ AGM - IR

Key Expertise Required:

Industrial Relations Management

    • Develop and implement IR strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
    • Maintain cordial relationships with unions, workmen, employee representatives, and statutory authorities.
    • Lead wage settlements, long-term settlements (LTS), collective bargaining agreements, and negotiations with unions.
    • Proactively identify and mitigate industrial relations risks.
    • Ensure smooth plant operations by maintaining a positive industrial climate.

 Union & Workmen Relations

    • Act as the primary point of contact for union representatives.
    • Conduct regular meetings with union leaders and employee committees.
    • Resolve grievances, disputes, and conflicts through effective negotiation and counseling.
    • Facilitate constructive dialogue between management and workforce.

 Statutory Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, including:
      • Industrial Relations Code
      • Factories Act
      • Standing Orders
      • Contract Labour Regulations
      • Social Security Laws
      • Shops & Establishment Act (where applicable)
    • Liaise with labor authorities, inspectors, and government officials.
    • Manage statutory audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.

 Discipline & Domestic Enquiries

    • Handle disciplinary cases, misconduct investigations, and grievance redressal.
    • Conduct domestic enquiries in compliance with legal requirements.
    • Draft charge sheets, show-cause notices, warning letters, and disciplinary action documentation.
    • Coordinate with legal counsel on labor litigation and court matters.

 Contract Labour Management

    • Monitor contract labor deployment and compliance.
    • Ensure contractor adherence to statutory obligations.
    • Conduct periodic audits of contractors and labor records.
    • Manage contractor relationships to support operational requirements.

 Employee Engagement & Communication

    • Drive employee communication programs and workforce engagement initiatives.
    • Facilitate works committee meetings and employee forums.
    • Support productivity improvement and cultural transformation initiatives.
    • Promote a positive employee relations environment.

 Stakeholder Management

    • Partner with Plant Leadership, Operations, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Safety teams.
    • Support organizational change initiatives from an IR perspective.
    • Provide guidance to line managers on employee relations matters.

 Reporting & Analytics

    • Track and report key IR metrics such as:
      • Grievances
      • Disciplinary cases
      • Absenteeism
      • Attrition
      • Man-days lost
      • Productivity indicators
    • Prepare periodic reports for management review.

Educational Qualification

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Arts / Science / Commerce.
    • Master's Degree in Human Resources / Personnel Management / Labour Welfare / Industrial Relations preferred.
    • Additional certification in Labour Laws or IR will be an advantage.

 Experience

    • 10–15 years of experience in Industrial Relations and HR within engineering, automotive, heavy engineering, manufacturing, or industrial organizations.
    • Proven experience in unionized manufacturing environments.
    • Hands-on experience in wage negotiations, settlements, disciplinary proceedings, and labor law compliance.
